On Friday evening 6-28-22 at approximately 6:34 pm Adair County 911 received a call of a collision around 17 miles east of Columbia on KY206 in the Pellyton Community. The Sheriffs Office along with Knifley Fire Department and Adair County EMS responded to the area on snow and ice covered roadways.
The collision was located just prior to Barnetts Creek Road on the bridge. CPR was started by the sheriffs office and Knifley fire prior to ems arrival however attempts by responders and ems was unsuccessful and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene. Adair County Coroner Todd Akin and Deputy Coroner Roger Huckaby were notified and responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that Jessie Allen Johnson, age 47, was traveling west on KY206 when he lost control of his 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup truck and struck the concrete bridge abutment bringing vehicle to an immediate stop. The roadways at the time of the collision were snow and ice covered with very hazardous driving conditions. The collision was investigated by Sheriff Josh Brockman who was assisted by Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch. The Adair County Sheriffs Office extends their prayers and condolences to the family during the loss of their loved one. Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff’s Office On 1-29-22 at 10:49 pm Sheriff deputies arrived at residence on cape road in the Melson Ridge Community to investigate a complaint. Deputies had received information that Jeffrey Helton, age 30, was hiding at residence with outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Russell County.
Upon locating subject he was took into custody without incident and methamphetamine with paraphernalia was found on or about his persons. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Derek Padget who was assisted by Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch and K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten. Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff’s Office On 1-29-22 at 9:45 pm the Adair County Sheriffs Office responded to a single vehicle collision on Montpelier Rd (KY92). Upon arrival it was found that Betty Gadberry, age 48, was operating a 2012 Ford Focus when she attempted a right hand turn. The vehicle struck ice and Gadberry lost control of vehicle as it left roadway and struck earth embankment.
Gadberry was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to TJ Health of Columbia for additional treatment. The collision was investigated by Deputy Derek Padgett. ADJOURN This meeting is open to the public Best Regards Bridget Compton Adair County Fiscal Court Clerk The collision occurred on 1-29-22 at 6:50 pm when Samuel Gaddis, age 50, of Columbia was traveling west on Gradyville Club Rd when he lost control of his vehicle. Gaddis was operating a 2008 Chevrolet truck. The vehicle went over a earth embankment and came to rest in a creek. Adair County EMS treated Gaddis on scene then transported him to TJ hospital in Columbia.
Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten investigated the collision and was assisted on scene by Columbia Adair County Fire Department. Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff’s Office The Columbia Police Department responded with Adair EMS to Speedway on Bomar Heights, Thursday evening, January 27 to a call of an unresponsive male in a vehicle. Upon arrival Officers and Adair EMS were able to wake the party and observed subject was under the influence.
After searching male and a female passenger, Officers located several syringes as well as suspected marijuana and heroin. Raymond Garrett, 38, of Joelton Tennessee was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance heroin. Passenger, Delorean Gibbs, 34, also of Joelton Tennessee was charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana. Officers Joey Keith and Josh Durbin were the arresting Officers. The Columbia Police Department located and served a sealed indictment on a Columbia resident, Sunday morning, January 30, just after midnight ending an ongoing drug investigation.
William Clyde Bratcher, 30, of Columbia was located at a rent trailer located on Pyles Court and was taken into custody having been indicted for trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine. Early Sunday morning, January 30, The Columbia Police Department initiated a traffic stop on Burksville Road outside the city limits near Breakaway Lane. After making contact with operator, K9 Unit Cally was utilized, resulting in suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other narcotics.
Christopher Caraway, 37, of Burksville has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance drug unspecified, and trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine. Officer also seized a large sum of cash. Officer Trevor Foster was the arresting Officer. He was assisted on scene by Officers Justin Cross and Holly Necessary. On 1-26-22 at or around 9:25 am Micah Roberts age 25 was remanded to jail by the Adair District Judge Mike Loy. When court bailiff Richard Redmond attempted to take him into custody he resisted arrest in courtroom and struggle ensued.
He was taken into custody and charged by Deputy Tracy McCarol with Assault 3rd degree, resisting arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. Sheriff Josh Brockman and CPD Officer Kevin Atwood additionally responded to court room to assist.
