Sheriff's Office investigates ATV accident that results in one female being airlifted and operator arrested.
On 9-19-2020 just after 11 pm Deputy Sheriff Chandler Staten was dispatched to Sparksville Community on Weed Sparksville Rd to a reported ATV collision. Uponarrival it was found that Auston Patterson 22 of Greensburg was operating a Polaris Razor on the roadway along with passengers Amanda Rigsby and Page Patterson. Preliminary investigation shows he lost control of his Razor in a curve resulting in it leaving the roadway and overturning multiple times ejecting the operator and tow passengers. Rigsby was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health of Columbia then airlifted thy Air Evac to University of Kentucky. Auton Patterson and Page Patterson refused medical treatment. Austin Patterson was then placed into custody on charges of: Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol aggravating circumstances. Wanton endangerment 2 counts Additional charges are pending as the Adair County Sheriff's Office continues investigation. Louisville Pair arrested for stolen vehicle after early morning traffic stop by Sheriff's Office.9/21/2020 On 9-20-2020 at 12:15 a.m. Chief Deputy Justin Cross initiated a traffic stop on Guardian Street of a red 2002 Toyota for traffic violation, Upon further investigation it was found that vehicle was entered as stolen from Jefferson County.
The vehicle was seized and Matthew Vaughan 22 and Dawn Robertson 18 of Louisville were arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. They were both arrested for Felony Theft by unlawful Taking over $500 but less than $10,000 motor vehicle. Chief Deputy Justin Cross was assisted by Officer Trevor Foster. The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation. The Adair County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential house fire on Friiday, September 18, 2020 to 2878 FairPlay Road, a home owned by Tony and Veronica Ayalie.
Upon arrival house was totally engulfed in flames. Fire was contained and origin and cause undetermined at this time. There was 19 firemen responding and on scene for about 1.5 hours. On 9-26-2020 shortly before midnight the Adair County Sheriff's Office was investigating a complaint on Gentry Rd. 9 miles wast of Columbia.
Chief Deputy Justin Cross came into contact with Timothy Lee, 48, of Russell Springs. During preliminary investigation it was believed he was in possession of controlled substances. After search suspected oxycodone and Xanex was located. He was arrested and lodged in Jail on charges of: Possession of a controlled substances 1st degree Possession of a controlled substances 2nd degree The Adair Sheriff's Office is continuing investigation. |
